Popcorn Balls yum!!

Popcorn balls are so sweet that you couldn’t resist its taste. In my subject Food Preservation we made this recipe, it only takes half an hour or maybe less an half hour to make this one. This is a simple yet delicious recipe that is suitable for picnics and while watching your favorite movies or shows at night.

First, I prepared the ingredients and assemble them in order according to the procedures and prepare the necessary equipments that are needed. The ingredients include, Corn kernel for popcorn, corn syrup, sugar, vanilla for flavoring, and butter. After the I prepared the ingredients, i started to cooked the corn, when the corns pops up in the kettle, set aside the popcorns. Next, I made the sauce for the popcorn, I put all other ingredients in the sauce pan, then shimmer for couple of minutes until the sauce will be sticky or caramel like. In the mixing bowl, put the cooked popcorn and mix it with the vanilla flavored sauce and mix thoroughly.Mold the mixed popcorn in the round shape molder or just roll it by bare hands (note, wash your hands first). Then refrigerate it for how many hours until it is become stiff.

After which, assemble them in any plate as you desire, then add the remaining sauce. Serve it while it is cold then you’re done!! The popcorn balls will last for a day or two, but consumed it after you’ve serve it so that the quality of the food will be remain.

Ketchups makes dinning even better!

Since I was a child, one of my favorite sauce or dips was ketchup, specifically tomato ketchup. I used it for many fried dishes or grilled meat, not only that, i used it in burgers whenever I dine in some burger food chains in the city.

There are two kinds of ketchup; tomato and banana ketchup. Banana ketchup is a mixture of banana and the tomatoes, the difference of the banana ketchup to tomato ketchup is the appearance and the consistency and flavor of the ketchup. It has a much sweeter than tomato and has a pigments of black seeds from the banana. While the tomato ketchup is purely made of finely pick tomatoes that is essential to produce a quality and delicate flavor of the tomatoes. Tomato ketchup is much thicker than banana ketchup in terms of consistency of tomatoes, and the flavor is little sweetness and salty, but much like to be sour. The spicy of the tomato ketchup depends on your taste, to me i likely to be much spicy than usual tomato ketchup. Hence, tomato paste is also added in the tomato ketchup in order to create much flavor and the color of the tomato.

In terms of lycopene content, the tomato ketchup is the higher source than banana ketchup. Because of that, most of the people who are having heart problems, should be suggest to add tomato ketchup in their daily dinning.

Unrelevant issues in school

Last month, I went to Brokenshire College and asked information for my transferee to that school. Days later, in my class with my major subjects specifically Food Preservation subject, my teacher Mrs. Joy Castro, I told her that I’m going to transfer to Brokenshire College, then the whole class heard our conversation. Some of my classmates asked me that am I sure about it and are they going to credit your subjects here in their? I answered them, “Yes, I had a conversation with the Administrator in Brokenshire, and told me that they will credit my subjects.

Weeks later, our Dean heard the news that most of the students are going to transfer to Brokenshire, and she was shocked. Not only that, she heard that my 3 major instructors are planning to move to other school, but actually it is not true. Everything until now, our department is in turmoil that no one can understand the situation of our Dean and what is her plans in the school.

In our section in the morning session, each one of us were asked what are our reasons why we came up to move in other schools and the Dean asked us that was that true that our teacher was trying to convinced us that to move to other school, particularly in Brokenshire. Then later, we heard that our Dean was planning to pull down our teacher, and she made some witnesses just to kick our teachers in our school.

To wrap things up, this issue was just only for our section, there is no other person who is concern about this matter, besides its our choice of moving to one school to other.  The things that our Dean plans to do or the things that she had already done was unprofessional and unethical, in terms of backstabbing and using students to get the sympathy in her part. However, she makes things that could destroy her image as well as the school and its system.

Bahay Kubo English Translation…

Nipa hut
My nipa hut, although it’s small
The plants are diverse
Turnips and eggplants,
Winged beans and peanuts,
 String beans, edible pots, lima beans,
White melon, gourd, white pumpkin and squash,
And still there are more, radish, mustard,
 Onions, tomatoes, garlic and ginger,
All around are lush sesame plants.
 Nipa hut or locally known as bahay kubo is the basic Filipino architectural type of house. It’s commonly found in the northern part of the Philippines, the roof is made from woven coconut husks or nipa leaves while the walls are made of bamboo and other natural materials that is commonly found in the forest. Some bahay kubo are made of bamboo stilts in order to protect from wild animals. Communal space is very important in the Filipino families, to be surrounded by the people all the time regardless of all the chaos. The Children may be playing around, Lolas or Grand Mother playing cards and Titas or  Aunties chismising (gossiping) but these are common and comforting, thus Filipinos have a fear of being alone. Nipa hut, is also shown in the movie, Finding Nemo, Nemo live in a nipa hut but not actually the actual image of the typical nipa hut, its a tribute to the graphic artist and the Filipino culture.

Leaving my fellow groupmates…

To my friends in Davao Pride group, sorry guys but I have to leave you already, because of war between a group member and I. I don’t know what he’s gonna tell me, and he’s acting so weird that i couldn’t understand. I can’t say to all of you that I’m gonna back again to the group, sorry for an hasty conclusion of leaving the group. There will be time that I will forgive him, not this time but soon. Even though I’m out of this group, but still hoping that the group will prosper and gain more friends in the city. Not only that, but to be socially responsible in every areas or ever aspect of helping people. And being aware of the happenings in every place in the city. I know its unexpected but, you’ll just have to accept it.

Healing The Broken Heart

How will you heal a  broken heart? A person feeling this way, as if their world were crashed and turn into chaos. And in some point of their lives, they lost their hope and motivation in their career or in their studies. In my part, I was one of these people suffering in this kind of pain in the present, but in my mind I never tend to be feel despair and frustrated. I have ways of healing my broken heart. It doesn’t seem to be as fas as if like a common flu or cold, but it takes me time to heal it. Now, these are my ways of healing a broken heart…

  • Never build a wall, because building it would never change the fact of forgetting that person, but it will cause you to isolate yourself in pain and despair.
  • Attend Sunday Mass in your church, God will help you to mend your heart by constant prayers that will get to close with Him.
  • Make yourself busy, focusing a certain thing would ease the pain of thinking of the past that both of you were together.
  • Make friends with your ex – boyfriend or ex – girlfriend, eventhough that both of you were split – up but still the two of you can be good friends. Don’t consider your Ex – girlfriend or boyfriend an mortal enemy, because it doesn’t make sense at all.
  • Mind over emotions, is the best way of having a good decision rather that your emotions will take over with it. That’s why God put our brain above our heart, to think what is good avoiding wrong decision that emotions is getting control of you.
  • Make yourself happy and learn from the mistakes that you have done.
  • And finally, have a hunger of the wisdom of God and His words in the Bible.

Regenerating One’s relationship to GOD

Recently i was having a cell group with my young people in so called Regeneration in a certain church at which is open for all Christian religion. My best friend invited me to come with him at the Regeneration Church, then i was doubtful at first because I rarely joined that kind of activity involving with GOD and in the end I felt relax and sort of joy inside. I never expect that i would end up like this that makes me feel comfortable of sharing my feelings about my life; hatred, doubts, and many sinful acts. I come to realized that, even how hard our life is struggling, disappointments, failures, and others are just part of teaching us to realize our mistakes and make our weakness as strength to continue living in this world. Being negative or pessimistic is a way of leading ourselves to miserable life and destroying our relationship to GOD. The best line that I’ve heard, “GOD loves us, eventhough we committed sins but never live to our sins.”

What is the difference of Sterilizing and Sanitizing?

Some of people get confused about the sterilizing and sanitizing, these two are the most common issues that concerning in the Food & Beverage Operation in a restaurant, Hotels, and even in the house. Because it talks about how you prepare and cook the food with the absence of any pathogens. Pathogens are any of all types of kingdom in bacteria, fungi, helminths, yeast, viruses that could cause food borne infection and food borne intoxication. The only way to stop or to prevent the these pathogens is to observe the proper sanitation, good personal hygiene, and sterilizing. Proper sanitation is the hygienic means of preventing of any human contact from the waste hazards in order to promote health and the absence of any visible dirt in the production area. Personal hygiene is a good habit of a person that is safe to any hazards that could contaminate the food. Sterilizing is a means of killing the invisible enemy (invisible enemy are refers to pathogens) in the Food & Beverage Operation.

Tips in dating!!

The month of February is the most awaited month of the year for the lovers. Many couples celebrated it with passion and desire to each other, especially when it is 14th of February. I have some helpful tips to your biggest date for your valentines day.

  • Surprise her for at any location that seems to be romantic to both of you.
  • Served food which is her favorite and for the main dish associated it with your choice of red wine.
  • Give her a dozens of roses, any color that you prefer or if she has a favorite one.
  • Never talk about the past, try to focus to the future of your relationships.
  • Make her feel special.
  • Hire some musician to play while the two of you are dating.
  • Avoid the unnecessary topic and movement that could trash your date.
  • Never ask for a intercourse ahead while dating.
  • If you’re asking to marry her, try to surprise her like putting the ring in the cake or food.
  • Ask for a dance, that could enhance the romantic moment of both of you.
